Does someone pick your clothes every time you go out on the town? Does someone style your hair and put on your makeup before every bash? No? Well that's probably because you're not one of these ever-so-lucky and über famous ladies/lads.
But just because you don't have a stylist at your beck and call, doesn't mean you can't dress like a celeb this holiday season.
We've consulted some of our favourite, recent red carpet looks and compiled some easy to follow tips that are sure to put you and your wardrobe in a sartorially festive spirit.
One Shoulder: Our favourite socialite has definitely had her highs and her lows, but Paris Hilton pulls this one-shoulder dress off well. Showing one shoulder is perfect for holiday parties because the look isn't as risque as wearing a strapless. Hilton balances the look by wearing an opposing side ponytail.
Bohemian: Even though Coachella is a springtime event, dressing like a bohemian hippie can be a year-round thing. Our favourite Canadian model, Coco Rocha, wears the bohemian look well -- just look at her floral mid-calf dress and wide-brimmed hat. This isn't a look for a holiday ball, but it's a cute look for an office party (if you want to stand out from your coworkers).
Go Nude: Why wear clothes when you can be naked? Just kidding. But wearing a skin-coloured dress is a sassy way to approach holiday party clothing. You'll stop people in their tracks because they'll think you have nothing on when, in reality, you're wearing a beautifully crafted dress just like Scarlett Johansson.
Cut Outs: In 2009 Olivia Wilde was ranked No.1 on Maxim magazine's Hot 100. It's now almost 2012 and she's still a showstopper. Her centre cut-out in this dress is a unique way to show skin and unconventional as far as cut-outs go. Try spicing your little black dress up with a cut out and show a little bit of rarely seen skin.
Cover Up: The combination of Naomi Campbell's perfect fringe with a long-sleeved, high neckline dress is just superb. She exudes classiness. If you want to channel Campbell's look, try a higher neckline and long sleeves. If the dress is monochromatic, glam it up with an oversized necklace and a coloured clutch.
Layer With Denim: Let's get this straight: wearing a denim button-up over a little black dress is not for all occasions. It's a look for a more casual party, the kind of party where it's your friends and a whole lot of wine. It's a casual yet really cute look that brings a sense of youthful spirit to an outfit. It also gives that over-worn little black dress new life. Do like Nora Zehetner and top the look off with a chunky necklace.
Neon: Get ready to run a neon-a-thon with an outfit like this yellow suit skirt set. If you're ready to embrace the glowing trend, this is the way to plunge in feet first. It's monochromatic magic for a holiday party. Who wouldn't want to talk to someone in a neon yellow suit? No one, that's who.
Full Skirts: The epitome of lady is a full skirt. This full skirt is a little bit wild because it has an animal print. If you're not willing to get a little bit Flinstones this holiday season, stick to a singular-coloured skirt. It's cute and feminine and will show well when worn with an amazing pair of heels.
Black Lips: This look may be a little bit Wednesday Adams, but black lips have been really popular this year. This pinkish nude dress looks bold when paired with the dark lips of Rooney Mara. If black is a bit too gothic barbie for you, try a deep purple. It will look super high-fashion and very on trend.
The New Crop: Every woman is smallest at her waist. So why not show your midriff off with a two-piece crop-top/skirt combo. This bright outfit packs a serious punch and shows off a little bit of skin in a not-so-scandalous way. Orange definitely isn't every woman's colour, so try this look in black or the ever-popular red.
Colourblock: Colourblocking is a trend that we're seeing for winter. It's a creative way to wear colours and, when done properly, it can look really clean and smart. Do like Amy Adams did and find a perfectly coloured dress -- holiday colours not necessary.
Top It Off With A Hat: This pint-sized actress is the queen of dressing perfectly for her stature. Pairing oversized boyfriend jeans with a fitted metallic jacket are an amazing combo. But what's really the best part of Rachel Bilson's outfit is her hat: chapeau's pull together an outfit and look classy. So stop telling yourself you're not a hat person and just go for it!
Play With Volume: Blake Lively is always willing to take risks with fashion -- this outfit is no exception. We like her use of volume here. The key to mastering this look is to choose the area of your body you'd like to "amp up." If you have broad hips, play up your shoulder (and vice versa). Also, don't pair two voluminous pieces together -- the key is balance.
Experiment With Materials: Kirsten Dunst's leather dress is definitely on trend for this holiday season, and wearing one will make you look fashion forward. Too afraid to deck yourself in leather from head-to-toe? Try wearing leather shorts or a skirt to ease into the trend. It's an interesting way to add a new material to your every day look.
Wear White After Labour Day: We say it so often -- it's OK to wear white after Labour Day. So why don't you try it? Katie Holmes looks slick in this blazer and silk shirt combination. If you're headed to a party, pair the white tops with a black skirt, black tights and a pair of statement heels. It will look classic and sophisticated.
Bedazzle Your Clothes: Glamour! Sparkle! Flashy! Bedazzled clothing basically screams holiday season. We love what Anne Hathaway did by covering up her arms in this bedazzled dress. She looks really classy and her dress simply sparkles.
Wear A Top Knot: It's called the fun bun, the top knot or a pineapple -- whatever you call it, the high bun has made its way off the runway and into our every day. Try accessorizing your holiday outfit with this sleek look. It's the perfect solution if you don't have the time to wash your hair before a party.
Keep It Simple: Simplicity is sometimes key for planning a holiday outfit. A well-fit dress with basic accessories reads well at any type of event. Try finding a dress that suits your body shape perfectly and keep the look clean with a purse and a pair of heels.
