Essay on The Dramatic Change of Dress and Skirts

What females where to social events at Plattsburgh State University

Since the beginning of time due to social norms, culture and religion most women were expected to wear traditional clothing that usually consisted of a dress or a skirt. And times have changed dramatically now that women are more liberated and we no longer care what society expects of us we wear what we want. The drastic change of women expressing them was first acknowledged in America began during the first wave of feminism.
This time period was the roaring twenties. During the roaring twenties women started lifting their skirts a bit higher and creating their own style to their clothing. As time progressed there were extreme changes in the clothing trend that took place every 20-30 years. In the 70's things changed a lot, denim became very popular and more women and young girls began to wear denim pants as an expression of freedom and change. In the 90's young women in most urban areas began to dress similar to men in over sized clothing and it was accepted within the younger generation as a new fashion trend of self-expression liberation and change.
